PRESS RELEASE
Pro-Shooter and Olympic Biathlete Lanny Barnes takes High Lady at Rocky Mountain 3-Gun World Championships

August 14, 2017 – For Immediate Release

Raton, New Mexico: The annual Rocky Mountain 3-Gun World Championships concluded yesterday after four exciting days of running and gunning, with Lanny Barnes taking yet another High Lady victory in the Limited Scope division. Barnes also won the Lady’s Shoot-Off sponsored by Brownells, Inc., edging out some of the best shooters in the nation.

A rising star in the 3-gun world, Lanny Barnes a.k.a. “Lanny Oakley”, is a three-time Olympic biathlete and world competitor. Competed in the 3-Gun circuit in 2016, Lanny won four major High Lady match titles in 2016, and is up to 6 first place finishes so far this year. Lanny is well on her way to achieving her goal of becoming the best female shooter in the country.

After developing the skills necessary to shoot while under extreme physical and mental stress over the past two decades of training and competing for Team USA in Biathlon, Lanny and her twin sister Tracy wanted to share what they have learned with others. To that end, they formed the T.O.P. Shooting Institute, otherwise known as “The Olympian Project”, which focuses on teaching military, law enforcement and competitive shooters how to shoot with an elevated heart rate and under stress.

Lanny spends much of her free time traveling around to schools, 4-H clubs, Boys & Girls Clubs, the Boy Scouts and Girls Scouts, etc. talking to kids about following their dreams, setting goals, and leading a healthy active lifestyle. Lanny is also an accomplished professional artist, and a sampling of her work can be seen at www.theolympianartist.com.

Living the dream in Durango, Colorado, Lanny Barnes is always happy to share her knowledge, experiences and enthusiasm. She may be contacted at 970-946-9339 or llbarnes3@hotmail.com.
